Thomas Brom

July 2, 1945 — May 13, 2017

Thomas Edward Brom, 71, of Watertown passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at UW Hospital. Tom was born on July 2nd, 1945, in Kearney, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Lilly (Maas) Brom. He married Sandra Parker on April 7th, 1984. After his dad retired from the Air Force, the family settled in Watertown where Tom graduated from Watertown High School in 1963. After graduation, Tom enlisted in the U.S. Marine Core where he served his country from 1963 to 1966, including two tours in Vietnam. Tom was a proud patriot, and both the American and Marine Core Flags were flown outside of his house every day of his life. Tom was also a member of the American Legion Post #189 and a member of the VFW Post #3709. After his honorable discharge from the Military, Tom spent the rest of his working career driving semi-truck for Motor Transport, Allard Express, and Advance Transportation until he retired. Tom loved the great outdoors and spent his younger years hunting and fishing. You could always find him cheering on the Packers and Brewers whenever there was a game on TV. He looked forward to his daily drives to Casey's in Richwood where he would watch Nascar or the Price is Right with his buddies. Above all, nothing meant more to Tom than his family. Whether it was the Holidays, Sunday dinners, watching a ball game or making his famous pancakes for his grandkids......he loved nothing more than when everyone was together. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters; Barb Eckhardt and Carol Groehler and his Brother-in-Law, Brian Eckhardt. Tom is survived by his wife Sandra, Five children; Tricia (Kenny) Strauss of Watertown, Jeff (Deborah) Parker of Watertown, Julie (Gary) Raatz of Horicon, Kurt Brom of Watertown and Jennifer (Calvin) Hoffman of Watertown.
