Ruth S. Hartwig

Ruth S. Hartwig, 86, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Beehive Homes in Mt Horeb.

Ruth was born on February 16, 1938, in Racine, the daughter of Heinrich and Selma (Scheel) Blanke. She married Donald Hartwig on October 11, 1958, and the couple enjoyed 41 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Ruth worked in the engineering department at Lindberg Heavy Duty in Watertown for over forty years. Ruth loved being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, and working in her garden growing flowers and vegetables. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her children Mark (Amy) Hartwig, Marcia (John McClellan) Hartwig, grandchildren Lukas, Abigail, Sean, Reid, and great-grandson Bentley, and her siblings Helen Carrillo and Dale (Marilyn) Blanke. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, and a sister in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 9th, 2024 at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home in Watertown with Rev. Dale Vlastnik presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Glenview Memorial Gardens.
