CHECKI, ROSEMARY I. WATERTOWN Rosemary I. Checki, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 24, 2016 holding the hand of one of her beloved granddaughters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Patrick Wendler Celebrating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Henry School, would be appreciated. Rosemary Irene Fendt was born on March 19, 1932 in Watertown, the daughter of Gerhard and Leona (Ruesch) Fendt. On January 10, 1953 she married Gordon Checki at St. Henry Catholic Church. Rosie was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church where she was a member of the choir, Christian Mothers and Altar Confraternity and the Home and School Association. She loved to sing, and was a fantastic baker and cook. She devoted 28 years of her life to serving the students and facility of St. Henry School in the lunch program. Through her 'pizza buns', 'peanut butter scotch bars', and 'strawberry fluff torte', among other delicious recipes, she was known as the 'best darn lunch lady around'. Rosie had been a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul for many years and was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers fan. Rosie is survived by her husband Gordon, their children Joseph Checki, John Checki, Jeffry (Ginger) Checki and Jeannine (Robert) Wolf, grandchildren Tony, Matthew, Megan, Jennifer, Krista, Stephanie, Angie, JJ, Brittany, Samantha and Nicholas, eleven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Delores Winkler.
