Roman Tischler

TISCHLER,  ROMAN  L. WATERTOWN    Roman L. Tischler, age 86, passed away on Saturday August 15, 2015, at Marquardt Health Care due to Parkinson Disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Scott Jablonski celebrating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 4 PM to 7 PM at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service and on Wednesday after 10 PM at the church. Elk's Lodge of Sorrows will be on Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at svfuneralhome.com. Roman Leo Tischler was born on November 11, 1928 in Beaver Dam, the son of Michael and Anna (Sturm) Tischler. On June 6, 1966, he married the former Roberta (Hastert) Cassidy at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Roman had been employed by the Watertown Street Department and was the Assistant Street Superintendent, when he retired. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church where he had been a Eucharistic Minister. Roman was also a member and past Exalted Ruler of Watertown Elk's Lodge #666 and a member of the Watertown Senior and Community Center. He was an avid motorcyclist and auto racing fan, especially NASCAR. Roman is survived by his wife Roberta, their children Patricia (William) Polensky , Connie (John) McFarland and Michael Cassidy, five grandchildren Carmen Krattiger, Brad (Lisa) Clark, Michelle (Dan) Bergman, Katie (Dan) Kuehl and Patrick McFarland, ten great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Lawrence and Anthony Tischler and four sisters Agnes Stegner, Josephine Kleindl, Frances Schreiber and Verona Tischler. Roman's family would like to thank Dr. Terry Turke for all his care.
