SCHIEFELBEIN, RICHARD W. "DICK" WATERTOWN Richard W. "Dick" Schiefelbein, age 77, passed away on Friday November 23, 2012 at University Hospital in Madison. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor John Kennedy officiating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 11 AM at the church. Memorials to the church, Watertown Humane Society or the Wisconsin Lion's Eye Bank, would be appreciated. Schiefelbein was born on October 30, 1935 in Chicago, IL the son of Walter and Lillian (Nyberg) Schiefelbein. He served in the US Marine Corp. On February 4, 1961 he married Gail F. Klein in Des Plaines, IL, she preceded him in death on December 4, 2011. Dick was a teacher in Elgin, IL for 31 years. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ where he had served on the Board of Trustees, was an usher, cut the church lawn and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Dick was a member of the Watertown Lions Club and was active as an eye transporter. Dick is survived by his children Debra (Joseph) Ruddell of Watertown and Eric (Ann) Schiefelbein of Johnston, Iowa, grandchildren Quinn and Chase Ruddell and Olivia and Elizabeth Schiefelbein, brothers Gordon (Barbara) Schiefelbein of Lake St. Louis, MO and Rev. Ray (Diane) Schiefelbein of Blue Springs, MO, a brother in law and sister in law Bruce (Carol) Klein of Hanover Park, IL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was further preceded in death by his parents and a sister in law Rona Schiefelbein.
