Ralph Trapp

Watertown - Ralph Raymond Trapp, age 87, passed away on January 10, 2017 while at the Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown. Ralph was born on April 17, 1929 in Milwaukee, the son of Edwin and Margaret (Hintze) Trapp. Ralph married Mabel Schultz on July 20, 1957 at the Trinity Evangelical Reformed Church in Brookfield. Ralph served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as an electrician in the service. After his service, he worked at the Purina Feed Mill before buying his farm. Ralph dairy farmed in the Watertown area until his retirement in 1995 and he was a true caretaker of the land and the animals. He played trumpet in the Brookfield band while in grade school and graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948. Ralph is survived by his wife, Mabel; six children, Nancy (Charlie) Kosanke, Alvin Trapp, Sally (Chris) Kosanke, Frank (Jammie) Trapp, Nola (Joe) Bishop, Alice Trapp; 13 grandchildren, Pam Kosanke, Michael (Amanda) Kosanke, Lisa (Andy) Werner, Travis (Caley) Kosanke, Trevor Kosanke, Samantha Kosanke, Wes Trapp, Beau Trapp and Bradley Trapp, Kaia Bishop, Courtney Bishop, Jimmy Bishop, Katie Bishop,; 2 great grandchildren, Martha and Norman; two brothers, Melvin and Carl Trapp and nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his step mother, Fritzi Trapp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the family in his memory. Memorial services will take place at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home, 500 Welsh Road, Watertown on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 1:30 PM. A visitation will also be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 PM Noon until the time of services. Pastor Sanette Francis will officiate.
