ANNEN, MATHEW F.MARSHALL Mathew F. "Buddy Boy" Annen, age 84, passed away on Thursday October 27, 2016, at his home. He was born on January 13, 1932 in Pine Bluff, the first child of Ferdinand and Florence (Foso) Annen. He grew up in rural Cottage Grove, Mathew entered the military in 1952 and was stationed in Germany. When he returned from the service he was employed by Oscar Meyer, where he met his wife, Mary Ann Havlik. They were married on August 6, 1955 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Wonewoc. Mathew and Mary Ann bought a farm near Marshall and he continued to work at Oscar Meyer for 44 years, until his retirement in 1997. Mathew loved his family with all his heart and he loved his farm. He was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed coon hunting, packer pools and pull tabs. He always told his family to "have a little money in your back pocket", as he slipped them a $10.00 bill. Mathew is survived by his wife Mary Ann, their children Michael (Sue) Annen of Madison, Marilyn (Rod) Smith of Fort Atkinson and Patrick (Beth) Annen of Deerfield, grandchildren Brian (Jen) Olson, Kim Olson, Justin and Nicole Annen, Stephanie (Steve) Radomski and Philip, Ryan and Anthony Smith, great grandchildren Millie and Cal Radomski and Lucas Olson. He is also survived by his siblings Agnes Aubry, Teckla Breunig, Elaine (Ralph) Breunig, John Annen, Otto (Delores) Annen, Mary Ann Annen and David Annen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Charlotte Vernig, a sister in law Mary Annen, brothers in law Darrell Aubrey and Sonny Breunig and a nephew Thomas Breunig. A Mass of Christian will be held on Monday October 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary of the Nativity in Marshall, with Father Jorge Miramontes celebrating. Burial with Military Graveside Honors will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the church parish center and Monday after 10:00 AM at the church.
