Mary M. Smith, age 100, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Marquardt Health Center. She was born on July 4, 1912 in Russia, the daughter of Peter and Anastasia "Stella" (Kuchlay) Wolk. During World War II she worked in the Veteran's Home in Milwaukee and was also a Beautician. Additionally, she worked in the cafeteria at Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha; and later retired as a cook at the Ethan Allen School for Boys in Wales. She is survived by her daughter, MarySue "Susie" Mariani of Watertown; grandchildren, Michael "Mickey" (Marilyn) Mariani of Hartford and Michele (John) Pennucci of Watertown, Minnesota; great-grandchildren, Aravis, Giovanni, Vincenzo and Etzio Pennucci; sister, Dorothy Popovich of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Theresa Wolk of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Smith in 1993; sisters, Anne, Helena and Jennie and brother, Peter. A memorial service will be held at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 500 Welsh Rd., Watertown, on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Monsignor Daniel Ganshert officiating.
