Louise Montgomery

Louise Emily Montgomery, 83, formally of the town of Morgan, WI, passed peacefully on June 16, 2020 in Watertown, WI. She was born October 29, 1936 in Richland Center, WI, to Freeman and Hortense Shaffer. She graduated Muscoda High School with the class of 1954, and attended Madison General School of Nursing, graduating with the class of 1957. Louise began her nursing career at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, and later at the Community Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls. She was the Co-Director of Nursing at the new hospital. Louise was Director of Nursing at Falls Nursing Home East. She also worked for the American Red Cross, traveling throughout Northeast Wisconsin and upper Michigan, until her retirement. On April 6, 1957, she married William E. Montgomery in Muscoda, WI. They were blessed with 4 children; Lucille of New London, WI, Elizabeth (Keith) formally of Big Bend, WI, William N. (Kim) of Juneau, WI, and Mary (Chris) of Malone, WI, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, her daughter Elizabeth, and grandson Daniel Sonkowsky. Louise will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tabor United Methodist Church in Gillett, WI. Interment will take place at the Morgan Cemetery.
