Loraine Schmutzler

Loraine A. Schmutzler, 88, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, May 25  at Angel's Grace Hospice in Oconomowoc.Loraine was born to Eric and Selma Riedeman, on November 21, 1928, and lived in Watertown her entire life.  After graduating from Watertown High School, Loraine married Donald Schmutzler .  Loraine and Don were blessed with three children, Dean, Sandra, and Holly.Loraine was active in St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, as well as other civic organizations.  She loved doting on her grandchildren, and was "Big Grandma" to them as well as her great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and playing  golf, and was quite proud of her "hole-in-one."Surviving are one son, Dean (Mary) Schmutzler, Cecil, WI;   two daughters, Sandi (Bob) Benzel. Oconomowoc;  Holly (Scott) Villwock, Palm Harbor, Florida and Oshkosh; grandchildren Lynn (Matt) Rotter, Green Bay;  Tracy Kidd, DePere; Stacy (Justin) Brown, Carlsbad, CA; Bridget (Ryan) Engel, Port Washington; Brett (Allisha) Villwock, New Port Richie, FL; and Chad Villwock, Orlando, FL.  Also surviving are Loraine's beloved great-grandchildren Lily and Finn Rotter; Fiona and Dylan Brown; and Landon and Autumn Villwock.Among those who preceded Loraine in death are her parents ; her husband, Don, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran who died in 2011; and her brother, Harvey Riedeman, who died in 1945 as a Japanese prisoner of war.  Riedeman-Thompson Post No. 35, AMVETS is named after her brother.Funeral services for Loraine will be held on Wednesday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walther officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.Family and friends may call at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.  Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Services is serving the family.
