Judy Ann Firkus, 74 of Milford, passed away December 31, 2023. She went the way she wanted, in her own home, surrounded by her cardinals and watching Gunsmoke.
Judy was born June 28, 1949, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Wage) Salb. She married the love of her life, Jerome, on January 14, 1967, at St. Mary’s in Sullivan. The two spent 55 treasured years together, and she was the “Judiette” to his “Jeromeo”. Judy’s life was devoted to others, whether it was taking care of her husband or helping out any one in need. She was a giving individual who always took the time to really care for those around her. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and watching the birds at her bird feeders. Above all else, Judy love to spend time with her family and friends.
Judy is survived by: her daughters Kathy (Adolfo) Contreras, and Amy (Darell Neal) Cunningham; grandchildren Brandon (Amanda), Mayra, Ariana, Natalie (Alex), Dylon (Katie), and Angie (Cody); great-grandson Oliver and another one on the way; siblings Carol Lumby, Vicki (Jim) Englehardt, Jean (Henry) Cruz, and Jim (Fran) Salb. Judy is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other loving family members, and friends.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerome, brothers Robert and Jerry, and sister Joanie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home of Watertown with Rev. Ray Bezanson presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the time of service.
