Jerry L. Braudt, 84, of Watertown, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Aurora Summit Hospital in Summit.
Jerry was born on June 2, 1940, the son of Lowell and Alice (Root) Braudt. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy, retiring from the military after 30 years of service. Jerry was a member of the Watertown American Legion Post 189, Watertown VFW, and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). Jerry was an avid reader, and had an impressive collection of books. He was a lover of western and sci-fi movies, and in his free time he enjoyed bowling and being a part of the tavern dart league. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to have known him.
Jerry is survived by his sister Janet (Jim) Watson, brothers William “Billy” Jaeckle and Larry Braudt, brother-in-law Gene Raatz, 11 nieces and nephews, great uncle to 19, great-great uncle to 7, and godfather to 2. He is further survived by special friends Kristine and Bob Fabian and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wives Marjorie and Mary, sister Lola Raatz, and step-son William.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home with Jenifer Watson presiding. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at a later date at Glenview Memorial Gardens in Ixonia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry’s honor to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) would be appreciated.
