Janet L. Rummer

May 28, 1946 — February 9, 2024

Watertown

Janet L. Rummer died peacefully at her home on February 9, 2024, at the age of 77.

She is survived by 2 children: Michael Nienhuis II and Megan (Matthew) Johnson; sister Barbara (Patrick) Potter; four nieces; and a number of cousins. Jan is preceded in death by her first husband Emans (Emo) Ozols She is also missed by her “adopted” daughter Carrie Mclees, who lovingly took care of her for more than 7 years. Her “adopted” daughter showed her what love felt like and was often by Jan’s side throughout Jan’s personal heartbreaks and numerous health ailments. Jan was forever grateful for the time that Carrie spent with her and for the last act of love, which was to bring Jan home to her apartment and care for her with the help of Hospice; giving Jan dignity, comfort, love, her kitty Zoey, and peace.

Special thanks goes out to the Rainbow Hospice team, Penny who was by Carrie’s side when Jan passed, and Dr. Kevin O’ Halloran, who’s calm bedside manner, prayers, hugs, and singing of hymns was a great comfort to both Jan and Carrie during the last few weeks.

“But listen love, love is not some kind of victory march, no

It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah” – Leonard Cohen

“Momma, you are home now, no more hurt, pain and suffering.”
