James Ellis

April 16, 1930 — April 29, 2019

James Newcomb Ellis died Monday, April 29, 2019 at Marquardt Manor Nursing Home, in Watertown, Wisconsin, at the age of 89 years old. He was surrounded by family and wonderful medical staff while he made his transition. James was born April 16, 1930 in the town of Clinton, Massachusetts. His birth parents were Guy Newcomb Kelton and Kathleen Healy. He was later adopted by Charles and Miranda Ellis. James grew up in Massachusetts and was a Carpenter. He was married to Lorraine Monroe and had 5 children. Joyce Ellis Waters of Massachusetts, James N. Ellis Jr. (deceased) of Massachusetts, Jan Ellis Elkind of Massachusetts, Julie Ellis Anable of Massachusetts, Jerry Ellis of Connecticut. Later in life James moved to Wisconsin and married Mary C. Michael. James and Mary had 4 daughters. Lisa K. Ellis of Watertown, Wisconsin, Lori C. Ellis of Watertown, Wisconsin, Kelly Ellis Humphries of Lowell, Wisconsin and Susan Ellis Seibert of Watertown, Wisconsin. James has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. James had a passion for fishing and raising show pigeons. He was a member of the Beaver Dam Pigeon and Bantam Club. James belonged to the Masonic Lodge for a time and enjoyed that greatly. After retiring from carpentry, James became a licensed Security Guard. After the passing of his wife, Mary, he moved from Florida back to Wisconsin to spend the rest of his life with his daughters and grandchildren. We would like to greatly thank the staff at Marquardt Manor Nursing Home for their loving care of our father. He really enjoyed each of you and he felt like living there was his apartment with great care takers. James will be buried with his wife, Mary.
