Herbert Steinbock

WATERTOWN Herbert J. Steinbock, age 90, passed away on Tuesday September 30, 2014 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Chapel at Marquardt Village, with Pastor Adam Steinbock officiating. Family entombment will be in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethany Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Rainbow HospiceCare, would be appreciated. Herbert Joseph Steinbock was born on November 29, 1923 in Rositz, Germany, the son of Herman and Theresa (Schneider) Steinbock. He served in the US Army air Corp from October 27, 1942 to February 13, 1946. On February 7, 1944, he married the former Goldie Mae Newberry in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Herb was the former vice President and General Manager of the former Cavalla Company of Milwaukee. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Waukesha. Herb was also a member of Masonic Lodge #337 F & AM in Whitefish Bay and the Watertown American Legion Post #189. He had been a Bingo caller at Marquardt Village, a wood carver and he sang with several local choruses. Herb was an avid Bridge and Pinochle player. Herb is survived by his wife of 70 years, Goldie, their children, James (Cheryl) Steinbock, Anne (Alan) Ledbetter and Jeffrey (Doreen) Steinbock, eight loved grandchildren, seven plus, loved great grandchildren, two sisters Lorraine Watkins and Shirley Grepke, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Irmgard Seiler.
