EBERT, GERTRUDE E. Marshall Gertrude Edith Ebert Gertie, age 89 died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Sienna Crest Assisting Living in Marshall. Gertie was born April 20, 1921 in Marshall to John & Mary (Hamshire) Haberkorn. She married Alvin Ebert on September 9, 1941 at Marshall; they farmed in the area for most of their lives. She was a member of St Mary of the Nativity Church in Marshall and their Womens CCW and also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters for many years. In 2003 she received the Outstanding Forester Award and also the Extra Effort Award from the Marshall School District. Survivors include two sons: Vern (Joan) Ebert, Oconomowoc and Jerry (Sue) Ebert, Marshall, one daughter: Mary Ebert (Ken Kleemann) Madison, five grandchildren: Maria (Jim) Ritter, Watertown; Brian (Paige) Ebert, Franksville; Greg (Chelsie) Ebert, Statesville NC; Zachary & Sarah Kleemann, Madison. Also, 4 great grandchildren: CJ & Katelynn Ritter, Watertown; Brady & Ryder Ebert, NC; one sister Loretta (Alvin/Bud) Lazers of Lake Mills; sisters-in-law Marie Yelk & Alice Ebert, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, especially Mary Wendt, Bel Giunta and Gini Fry. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin in 1990, her parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, 5 half-brothers and 1 half-sister. Gertie volunteered many years for Easter Seals and the Marshall ELC. She also had a great green thumb and loved to crochet snowflakes and bake. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday February 5, 2011 at 11:30 am at St Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church in Marshall; Father Michael Radowicz officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Hart-Vick Funeral Home in Marshall and on Saturday from 9:30 am to 11:15 am at the church. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 7 pm at the funeral home. Our family would like to extend special thanks to Sienna Crest and Hospice staff for all the wonderful care they provided to make Moms life comfortable. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care, Easter Seals or St Marys Church. Mom collected angels for 40 years, now she is one.
