ZOELLE, GENEVIEVE A. WATERTOWN Genevieve A. Jean Zoelle, age 93, passed away on Monday May 17, 2010 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 28, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church with Father Brian Wilk celebrating. Family burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday May 28, 2010 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM . In lieu of flowers, memorials to the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Elm Grove or St. Henrys School, would be appreciated .Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home And Cremation Service is serving the family. Genevieve A. Hans was born on July 13, 1916 in Jefferson, the daughter of Joseph and Henrietta (Bax) Hans. Jean graduated from Jefferson County teachers College and UW Whitewater. She started her teaching career in a one room school in Concord. On May 1, 1939 she married George Zoelle and he preceded her in death on April 7, 1983. Jean had been a teacher and school secretary at St. Henrys School, where the students called her Mizelle. She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and the Christian Mother and Altar Confraternity. Jean loved to travel, especially to Germany, Hawaii and the Rose Bowl the year Wisconsin played. Survivors include her children Sister Virginia Zoelle of Elm Grove, William (Kathie) Zoelle of Beaver Dam and Roger (Pat) Zoelle of St. Nazianz, seven grandchildren, Mike (Jen), Linda (Steve), Sarah, Lisa (Dave), Ashley, Matthew and Benjamin, eight great grandchildren , special family friends Emery Baumann and Marie Zoelle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was further preceded in death by her parents and a two brothers Daniel and Stanley Hans. Jeans family wishes to extend a special thank you to Rainbow Hospice for their love and care.
