HAHN, FRANK WESLEY MARSHALL Frank Wesley Hahn, age 84, passed away on Sunday January 6, 2012 at his home. Wes was born on October 19, 1928 to Charles and Ann (Hannemann) Hahn. He was a 1946 graduate of Marshall High School. He married his High School sweetheart, the love of his life, Beverly Schafer on May 7, 1949. Wes enjoyed deer hunting and fishing at the cabin in Winter, WI. He also enjoyed trips to Ho-Chunk Casino, playing cards and going to high school basketball games. He worked at Bowman Dairy for five years until he was drafted into the United States Marine Corp. in 1951. Wes was named Marine of the month at two different occasions and he was honorably discharged with rank of Sergeant in 1953. After returning from the service Wes worked at the University Housing for 37 years, until he retired in 1989. Wes was on the Marshall Village Board, serving on the police committee and park board. He was a 25 year member of the Marshall Volunteer Fire Department and a 59 year member of the Marshall American Legion Post # 279. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Marshall. Wes and Beverly celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii in 1974 and enjoyed many vacation trips to Treasure Island, FL, where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. Wes is survived by his sisters in law Lorraine Hahn of Poynette and Betty Mae Hahn of Marshall, Nephews and nieces Larry and Sharon Hahn of Poynette, Gary and Judy Hahn of Waunakee, Kenneth and Roberta Jean Hahn Erdahl of Poynette, Kevin and Lisa Hahn of Windsor, Sue Hahn of Madison and Steve and Karen Benesch of Woodruff, WI, also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, parents and grand parents, two brothers Robert and Charles "Carly" Hahn, a sister Ormae Benesch and brother in law Jim Benesch. Funeral services will be on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marshall with Pastor Mark Schoeneck officiating. Family burial will be in Second Reformed Cemetery in Reeseville. Family and friends may call on Saturday after 10 AM at the church.
