WATERTOWN Frank L. Capps, age 88, passed away on Friday August,8, 2014 at Heritage Homes. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service, with Pastor Mark Bartsch of Heritage Homes, officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Military honors will be conducted by the U S Navy and Greenwood VFW Post #987. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warriors Fund or Greenwood VFW Post #987, would be appreciated. Frank . L. Capps, Jr. was born on November 13, 1925 in Dallas, Texas. After high school, Frank joined the US Navy and proudly served his country for 30 years. During this time he served in the Pacific during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He also lived in Japan while on embassy duty and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Oahu, Hawaii. He obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He has lived in Wisconsin since 1988. Frank was the founding member of the Greenwood VFW Post #987 in Baraboo and served as it's commander and recruiter since 1999. On May10, 2010 he married Marilyn Kressin Goetsch. Frank is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Bruce Capps and Rick (Lisa) Capps, and stepsons Ronald (Linda) Stadler, Steve (Janice) Stadler, Greg (Ruth) Stadler, Jeff (Pam) Stadler, Grant (Lynn) Goetsch and Byron (Denise) Goetsch. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
