Evelyn Berlin

Cottage Grove/Sun Prairie - Evelyn F. Berlin, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Waunakee Manor. She was born on September 29, 1921 in Madison, the daughter of Benjamin and Laura (Budig) Taves. Evelyn married Paul Berlin on June 21, 1941 and they were able to spend 62 years together until Paul's death on October 29, 2003. Evelyn was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Farm Bureau and the Lydian Society. She was also a cook for the Marshall School system. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, cross stitch, sewing and playing cards. She is survived by her children, Lucinda Bartosch of Stoughton, Laural (James) Mielke, Norman (Debra) Berlin and Brenda Cowan all of Sun Prairie; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister. A funeral service will be held at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 204 Deerfield Rd., Marshall on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark E. Schoeneck officiating. Burial to follow at Medina Cemetery. A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at church on Friday until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Waunakee Manor for their kind and considerate care.
