Ervin Scherwinski

SCHERWINSKI, ERVIN N. WATERTOWN Ervin N. Scherwinski, age 79, passed away on Wednesday December 19, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Watertown. Ervin was born on February 12, 1933 in Park Falls the son of Arnold W. and Ida E. (Hoefferle) Scherwinski. On February 12, 1955 he married the former Ruth Pape at St. Norbert Catholic Church in Roxbury, WI. Over the years Ervin has lived in Park Falls, Sauk City, Waukesha, Waupaca and Watertown, he had been employed as a linotype operator. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and over the years he has been a member of the Holy Name Society. Ervin worked very hard to support his large family, usually working three jobs. He sent all 13 children to Catholic School through High School. He had been involved with church work throughout his life. Ervin also loved sports, especially baseball. He coached children's baseball, track and basketball. He loved to return "up north" to hunt, fish and spend time at the cabin. Ervin's survivors include his wife Ruth, his mother in law Melania Pape, their children Kathy (Kurt) Brown, Ron (Lisa), Dave (Cathy), Dan (Pam), Chuck (Anne), Glen (Sema), Ellen (Joe) Christensen, Lisa (Jeff) Ihn, Donna (Doug) Sueflohn, John (Diane), Susan (Todd) Steffanus, Karen Evans and Tom (Lia) Scherwinski, 40 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, with 3 on the way, brothers and sisters Darrell (Marion), Darlene (Bill) Schofield, Lloyd (Reta), Dolores (Dave) Senderhauf and Alvin (Cindy) Scherwinski. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at St. Bernards Catholic Church with Father Jorge Miramontes celebrating. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 AM to noon at the church. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family.
