SCHWANTES, ELMER P. "BUBS" WATERTOWN Elmer P. "Bubs" Schwantes, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 3, 2012, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Pastor Michael Schempf officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Lowell Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at watertownwifuneralhome.com Elmer was born on October 12, 1929, in Hustisford, the son of Elmer and Pauline (Tietz) Schwantes. On June 18, 1977 he married Beverly Kreitzman at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Bubs retired from Menasha Corporation in 1990. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman and the Rock River Rescue. Bubs loved gardening, fishing in Eagle River, hunting and woodworking. He especially enjoyed family trips to Hayward and was an avid Packer, Brewer and Badger football fan. Elmer is survived by his wife Beverly, children Jean (Steve) Persons of Minnesota, Jerry (Debbie) Schwantes , Tammy Huber and Kim Seibel all of Watertown, 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers Kenneth (Judy) Schwantes and Ron (Mitzi) Schwantes both of Watertown, also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, step mother Nora Schwantes and his sisters Ludene Lehmann, Elaine Matusiewicz and Marjorie Zastrow.
