Earl Nitz

NITZ, EARL E. MARSHALL/COLUMBUS Earl E. Nitz, age 82, passed away on Monday March 8, 2010 at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg. Earl was born on January 10, 2010 in Portage, the son of Walter and Mabel (Schultz) Nitz. Earl had been married to the former Marion Schora for 38 years, until her death in December of 1995. On July 4, 1999 he married the former Mary Prill in Las Vegas. Earl was retired from the Chicago Milwaukee St. Paul Railroad. He had been an avid bowler, golfer and dart player and he loved his Pabst Blue Ribbon. He had played Abe Lincoln for the Sun Prairie Schools and he had sung for many wedding and funerals. Survivors include his wife Mary, his daughters Debbra Barrons of Sussex and Veda Chutz of Portage, his step children Tammy James of Waterloo and Glen Haberman of Marshall, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, sisters Larryne Crawford and Evelyn Closs both of Portage, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Florence and Marguerite. Funeral services will be on Saturday March 13, 2010 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshall. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Hart-Vick Funeral Home of Marshall is assisting the family.
