Dorothy Gottschalk

GOTTSCHALK, DOROTHY P. WATERTOWN Dorothy P. Gottschalk, age 93, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at her home. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 5th at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Deacon Oscar Rozo and The Rev. Thomas Guback officiating. Interment will be in the church's columbarium. Family and friends may call on September 5th from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the church would be welcomed. Schmutzler-Vick Funeral home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Dorothy Prahl was born on July 5, 1919 in Watertown, the daughter of Herman and Ida (Wittnebel) Prahl. On October 17, 1942, she married Donald J. Gottschalk in Watertown. He preceded her in death on October 2, 1985. Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of Watertown High School. She had been employed as a dental assistant to Dr. A.C. Gilbert and also had worked for Tetzlaff Pharmacy and Salick Jewelers in Watertown. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served as a longtime member of the Altar Guild. Survivors include her son, Don Gottschalk of Watertown, a grandson John (Lisa) Gottschalk of Clearwater, FL, her great grandchildren Miles and Lana, a brother George (Ann) Prahl of Watertown, a brother-in-law John (Linda) Gottschalk, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
