HINTZMANN, DEL WATERTOWN Del Hintzmann, age 82, passed away on Thursday September 19, 2013 at Marquardt Health Care with his family at his side. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Rodney Warnecke officiating. Family burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Memorials to The Wisconsin Lion's Eye Bank or the charity of one's choice, would be appreciated. Del was born on December 31, 1930 in Watertown, the son of Walter and Olivia (Reith) Hintzmann. On February 12, 1949 he married the former Jeanne Faber and she preceded him in death on August 31, 2012. Del and Jeanne were the owners of D. H. Enterprises that owned the former Watertown Cab Company, former Del's Liquor Store and D. H. Enterprises School Buses. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as the church treasurer for 6 years and was chairman of the Finance Committee for several years. He was a member of the Watertown Board of Education for 13 years. Del enjoyed camping, golf, hunting, fishing, travel and most of all, his family. Del had been involved in the former Watertown Jaycees for 15 years, serving as president and Vice District Governor of the Wisconsin Jaycees. He joined the Watertown Lion's Club in 1969 and served for 6 years as Tail Twister, he went through the 3 Vice Presidents Chairs and served as President in 1980 - 81. Del served District 27 A2 as assistant to District Governor Gerald Rabbach1980 - 81, Zone Chairman 1989 - 90 and 1990 - 91, Region Chairman 1991 - 92 and 1992 - 93, District Governor 1993 - 94, State Council Chairman 1993 - 94 and twice as District Cabinet Secretary-Treasurer. Del received Watertown Lion's awards for Lion of the Year, Distinguished Service Award and several Chairmanship Awards, Many District Governors Awards, 6 International President Appreciation Awards including the International President Leadership Award. Del is survived by his children Valerie (John) Hrobsky, David (Diane) Hintzmann, Lynn (John) Haney, Mark (Jayne) Hintzmann and Patti (Bill) Van Arsdale, grandchildren Julie (Mike) Roehm, Jon (Lisa) Hrobsky, Jill Hrobsky, Allison (Ty) Adams, Ben Hintzmann, Brad Haney, Mollie Van Arsdale, Jeremy Van Arsdale and Ryan Van Arsdale, step grandchildren Erin (Ross) Clark and Kayla Weiner, Great grandchildren Nicholas Roehm, Luke Roehm, Charlotte Hrobsky, Jack Hrobsky and Zaviar Adams. He is also survived by a brother Arden (Lois) Hintzmann, a sister Garnette Marquardt, a nephew Todd (Betsy) Hintzmann a niece Sara (Arthur) Atikune, other relatives, friends and his Lion's family. He is further preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Shannon L. Hintzmann and a brother in law Bob Marquardt.
