Marshall/Palm Coast, FL. - David L. Benesh, age 79, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 3, 2015. He was born on November 27, 1935 in the Township of York, the son of Leon and Loretta (Weisensel) Benesh.David graduated Sun Prairie High School 1953 and attended Plattville for several years. David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, stationed on the USS Bennington. He was a farmer in the Marshall area for most of his life. David also worked at the Veteran's Hospital in both Bronx and Syracuse, NY and various other places. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he truly enjoyed playing cards. David never missed a chance to play cards with friends or family and if there wasn't a game already started; he would make sure one began. He was devoted to his family and friends. David would do anything for them, even give them the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed for his kind, patient and self-less nature. He is survived by Jean Holzhueter, sisters, Joan Veith, Mary Behringer, Judy (Ron) Stuber and Rita Benesh; Jean's siblings, Jim Gerber, Connie Minsch, Danny Gerber and Kathy Quaintance; many beloved nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Andrew Veith and brothers-in-law, Robert Veith, Richard Fossum and Steve Gerber. A memorial service will be held at HOLY FAMILY PARISH/ST. MARY OF THE NATIVITY, 120 SOUTH BEEBE, MARSHALL on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Jorge Miramontes presiding. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. A visitation will begin at 9:00 am at the church with a rosary starting at 10:40 am. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
