Chad Michael Rouhoff, 55, of Johnson Creek, passed away December 4, 2024, as a result of aortic dissention (heart attack).
Chad was born April 20, 1969 in Sioux Falls, SD, to Larry and Linda (Edhlund) Rouhoff. He attended school in Rochester MN, graduating with honors from Mayo High School in 1987. While attending a basketball camp at St. John’s University involving hundreds of boys, Chad would receive the Sportsmanship trophy. He attended nearly 4 years of college at St. Cloud State, majoring in genetics engineering and making the Dean's List most semesters. As a student at St. Cloud, he was nominated for an EAGLE award for saving the life of a fellow student. He enjoyed golfing, playing basketball and sand volleyball with the great friends he made there.
Chad worked many jobs, gaining skills he used for future repair and building projects. Working for Hayfield Window and Door, his grandpa’s company until it was sold. He most recently worked at Hammerhead in Lake Mills.
On February 18, 2006, he married Lachelle Giese. July 6, 2007, they welcomed son Charlie into the world, followed by daughter Maggie on September 12, 2008. His family was the focus of all Chad’s love and life. Together they enjoyed sports, camping and other travel, going to concerts hanging out at Nature’s Villa campground, church and leading Cub Scout pack 98. He loved coaching his children’s youth baseball, basketball, and softball teams. He helped strengthen baseball skills by founding The Dungeon at the old JC high school where kids can still practice their baseball skills. He continued to be an active golfer, and enjoyed Watertown’s 4-man Dart ball league. A rabid sports fan, he could talk sports for hours and was an avid participant in Fantasy Football, winning more than once. He was a regular member of JC’s football chain gang.
He attended Crossroads Church in Johnson Creek. He was very intelligent and always wanted to educate himself and learn more. He loved trivia games/gameshows and was very good at researching every vacation and he would find the best order of rides to go on at Disney World or side trips off Route 66 to see the world’s largest lawn chair, Carhenge, and get some fudge from Uranus.
Chad is survived by his wife Lachelle, children Charlie and Maggie, parents Linda and Larry Rouhoff, parents-in-law Wayne and Dorie Giese, sisters Amy (Nathan) Jorgensen and Holly (John) Winn, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Maynard and Dorothy Rouhoff and Anne Edhlund.
