Carol Burns

Madison - Carol Burns, age 78, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Karmenta Care Center in Madison. Carol was born on September 24, 1934, the daughter of Elmer and Lillian Jeske. Carol loved flowers of all kinds, especially daffodils; a good game of cards, doing counted cross-stitch and spending time visiting with family and friends. Carol is survived by her sons, Craig Selchert , and Todd (Theresa) Selchert , and step-children, Dennis (Alice) Burns, Mike (Kay) Burns, Joe (Ellen) Burns, Patricia (Mike) Filbrandt, Jerry Burns, Ed (Melanie) Burns, Peter (Terri) Burns, John (Terri) Burns, and Marie (Roger) Lackore. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters, cousins, extended family and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, stepmothers Dorothy and Helen, her sister Eileen, and husband LeRoy Burns Sr. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at EASTSIDE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2310 Independence Lane, Madison with Rev. Glen Schmiege officiating. Friends may call from 9:30am until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Sun Prairie Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastside Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association or the Heartland Hospice of Madison. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Karmenta Care Center and Heartland Hospice.
