HAACK, BERNICE E. Bernice Evelyn (Huth) Haack was born to Rev. Raymond W. & Minna (Grinsel) Huth on April 12th, 1924, in Milwaukee, WI. She became a child of God on May 4th, 1924, when her father brought her to the waters of Holy Baptism at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church. She was blessed to have her father confirm her in the Christian faith in March 1935, and also officiate her Christian marriage to Charles R. Haack on September 4, 1944. She grew up with her three siblings in a parsonage on the south side of Milwaukee. She became an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making/altering clothing. After a short time in Michigan where her husband worked for the airlines, the couple made their home on the south side of Milwaukee where they raised their five children and taught them to love the Lord Jesus. She was a homemaker until her husband passed away, and then she worked as a manager in food service for Milwaukee Public Schools at various locations for 20 years. Along with being busy and hardworking, she thoroughly enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking, entertaining family and friends, playing Rummikub and Scrabble, as well as volunteering at the Bargain Center, WLCFS guild, and her local churches. In her retirement she also enjoyed living at Luther Haven and Heritage Homes and socializing with new friends. Bernice loved and trusted in her Savior Jesus Christ, and throughout her life she was fed the Word of God and was very active at Messiah Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee; Centennial Ev. Lutheran Church, Milwaukee; Risen Savior Lutheran Church, north Milwaukee; and St. Mark Ev. Lutheran Church, Watertown, WI. Bernice was called to her heavenly home on Monday, September 14th, 2015, to rest in the arms of Jesus as she awaits the resurrection of the dead. Bernice was 91.Bernice is lovingly remembered by her children, Barbara (Dennis) Gulczynski of Lake Mills, WI, James (Sue) Haack of Muskego, WI, daughter-in-law Sandy Haack of Oconomowoc, WI, Jean Haack (and friend Cathy Palmer) of Land O Lakes, WI, John (Valerie) Haack of Shell Lake, WI; grandchildren, Christine (Andrew) Palmquist, Linda (Dan) Martin, Nicole Haack, Adam Haack, Nathan (Emily) Gulczynski, Julia (Christopher) Jourdan, Lucas (Rachel) Haack, Tabitha (Rakesh) Muraharishetty, Amanda (Giancarlo) Farfan, Jennifer (Drew) Knoop; 14 great grandchildren; her brother, Rev. Paul (Betty) Huth of Waupaca, WI, and her sister-in-law, Lorraine Haack of Escanaba, MI. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles on July 7th,1965; her parents; her sister, Marion (John) Stark; her brother, Carl (Helen) Huth; and her son, Thomas Haack on January 2nd, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor to the Church of your choice or the National Kidney Foundation, or other charitable organizations would be appropriate.
