Barbara Gottschalk

Marshall - Barbara Gottschalk passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the presence of her family following complications with cancer. She was born on December 27, 1948 in Madison to Arthur and Arlene (Grinder) Stark. She was united in marriage to Dennis Gottschalk on August 30, 1975. She was a 1967 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, WI. She formerly worked for the City of Madison Engineering Division for 8 years and for the State of Wisconsin Supreme Court for 29 years, retiring in 2005. She was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church and their Lydian Society in Marshall. She was also a winter member at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Leesburg, FL. Barb enjoyed bowling in a couple's league, traveling to Florida for the winter, and traveling to Las Vegas and Branson. She was an avid Green Bay Packer, Brewer and NASCAR fan, especially a fan of Matt Kenseth. Barb is survived by her husband, Dennis; sons, Craig and Mark Gottschalk of Marshall; mother, Arlene Stark of Marshall; sisters, Pat (Bill) Kreitzman of Madison and Marilyn (Mike) Starczynski of Marshall and brother-in-law, Wil Follmer of Rhinelander. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, David (Brenda) Gottschalk of Marshall; Dale Gottschalk (Vicki Moore) of McDonough, Georgia and Elliot (Kathy) Gottschalk of Oconomowoc and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Janice Follmer and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Wesley Gottschalk. A memorial service will be held at ST. PAUL'S EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 204 Deerfield Rd., Marshall on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Mark Schoeneck presiding. A visitation will begin at 1:00 pm on Monday at church until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Agrace Hospice, American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
