LAZERS, ALVIN L. "BUD" MARSHALL/TEXAS/LAKE MILLS Alvin L. "Bud" LazerS, passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Brook Gardens in Lake Mills. A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church-Marshall Campus with Father Michael Radiwicz presiding. Family and friends may call on Saturday June 2 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. Memorials to Rainbow Hospice of Jefferson, would be appreciated. Alvin was born on November 17, 1921 in the Town of York, Dane County, the son of Alvin and Elsie (Johnson) Lazers. He served in the US Army 91st Infantry in the European Theater were he received the Purple Heart. On September 11, 1946 he married the former Loretta Haberkorn at St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church in Marshall. He had been an auto mechanic at the former Lazers Motors in Marshall and then worked for the Village of Marshall. After retirement, Bud and Loretta lived in The Woodlands, Texas until returning to Lake Mills a year ago. Bud was a member of St. Mary of the Nativity Catholic Church in Marshall, Marshall American Legion Post and a former member of the Marshall Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Canada, hunting and woodworking. Survivors include his wife Loretta, daughters Carol (Rodell) Reamer of Marshall and Mitzi (Russ) Palmer of The Woodlands, Texas, grandchildren Scott (friend Kathleen Zickert) Reamer, Robyn (Robert) Billig and Brooke Palmer, a great granddaughter Paige Billig, 2 sisters Mary Derr of Marshall, Genevieve Derr of Sun Prairie, 2 brothers James Lazers of Montello and Robert Lazers of Marshall. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy.
